Inspiring Little Heroes One
Personalised Book At A Time
Secretly educational and totally inspirational stories kids love. That’s what we’re really about.
Books Made With Depth & Passion
Education sits at the heart of everything we do. Between Colin’s international business, publishing and education experience across 38 countries, and Siobhain’s background in design, storytelling and education, we hold ourselves to a benchmark we take seriously. Add the daily schooling of our own two small children, and every book we make is shaped by what genuinely works.
Today’s children deserve a different kind of learning. One that gets them off devices, sparks curiosity, and builds the skills they’ll actually need: logic, problem solving, memory, language, empathy and an open mind.
That’s what our personalised books are built to do.
Let’s be honest though, the best learning happens when a child doesn’t realise they’re learning at all. That’s why we call it “educating on the sly”, and that’s the quiet magic we weave into every single page.
Join us in giving your little one the most beautiful headstart we know how to make.
Introducing: Teddy
Interactivity and participation in books improves learning. Our teddy loves a good adventure, so find him on every page of every story. Perfect for the young ones (there’s great stuff for the older kids too).
The Story Behind The Stories
The Kids Book Company began with a shared idea between Jess and Fernando, a vision to create personalised books with an educational layer, where learning and imagination could live side by side. Jess and Fernando curated The Kids Book Company, starting with My Way Home as the first title.
Soon after, they sought the help of Colin.
Like many small businesses, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. During COVID, changes in the industry and the loss of trusted printers placed enormous pressure on the business. As Jess and Fernando moved into other commitments, Colin took on the responsibility of carrying The Kids Book Company forward, determined not to let something so special disappear.
That’s when the business found a new home, within our family.
The Kids Book Company is now proudly run by Colin and Siobhain, under the Little Coopers wing. We are a family-run business, raising two small children while building something we believe deeply matters.
One of our most loved stories, My Secret Unicorn, is inspired by a real horse, Missy, who was under Colins’ care, and really was just like a unicorn. The story was born from real life, just like the business itself.
Siobhain brings her background in branding and design, while Colin brings decades of business experience, both with an understanding of what’s important to family. Together, we now run The Kids Book Company as a true family business, hands-on, heart-led, and deeply intentional.
One day, Colin was sitting on the sofa reading My Secret Unicorn to our six-month-old son, Sebastian. He paused, looked at Siobhain, and quietly said:
“This is what it’s all about.”
That feeling has never left us.
A book that is truly your child’s, a character that represents them, their name on the pages, their name on the cover (if you choose), them as the hero….
All these special extras create moments where time feels like it stands still. In a busy, noisy world where childhood passes far too quickly, those moments matter.
We create books that are not just fun and educational, but personalised keepsakes. Stories that are read, reread, and remembered. Stories that grandparents treasure, aunties and uncles gift with pride, and parents hold close.
As a home-educating family running businesses, we understand how important meaningful learning, connection, and presence truly are. These values are the pillars of The Kids Book Company: storytelling, education, imagination, and family.
We promise to create personalised childrens books that honour childhood, spark curiosity and turn everyday reading into moments you ‘ll treasure for a lifetime.
From our family to yours, always 🤍
Colin and Siobhan
We Know Kids Love Our Books….We Checked!
Every book we make first passes the hardest test we could devise… the unfiltered honesty of children!
Plus there’s an amazing collection of parents, educators and even a librarian. My favourite kids quote so far is “Why can’t all my books be about me?” LOL.
